Green Mayoral Candidate Sian Berry joined Lewisham Green Party to launch election campaign

11 February 2016

It was a night of impassioned speeches and compelling issues as Green Mayoral Candidate Sian Berry, Brockley Councillor John Coughlin, and Greenwich and Lewisham Constituency Candidate Imogen Solly, each talked about the issues that mattered to them.

Sian Berry talked about her vision for a cleaner, greener and fairer London and what her priorities will be in the lead up to the London elections on 5 May. The Lewisham Green Party launched their camapign plan, aiming to spread the Green message throughout Lewisham. The first campaign will be an air pollution monitoring project to see what areas of Lewisham Borough are over legal limits of pollutants and in need of action to clean our air.

Imogen Solly said “Our air pollution monitoring project will raise awareness of this hidden killer, and just how many homes and schools are affected by illegal & dangerous pollution across Lewisham. The Green Party is the only party committed to giving power back to local communities in this way, and giving London back to Londoners”.

Lewisham residents are invited to get involved in the air pollution monitoring project. Those interested can join Greens on Saturday 13th any time between 11am and 4pm, at Patchwork Present, 7b Harefield Road, SE4 ILW. Help decide where to put up test tubes, near schools and houses across the borough - and if you want you can even sponsor a tube in a location near you.
