A ‘rainbow coalition’ of councillors from three parties have joined forces with campaigning residents in demanding a change in the law on lap dancing clubs. The move follows anger over the granting of a licence to local bar the White Hart in New Cross Road despite huge opposition from residents.

London Green MEP Jean Lambert has been re-elected for a third term in the European Parliament. In the borough of Lewisham the Green Party came second to Labour, ahead of both Conservatives and Lib Dems.

Green Party councillors are expecting a landmark victory this week for Lewisham's lowest-paid workers. Council officers have asked the Mayor to approve new rules promoting the London Living Wage, for which the Greens have fought a year-long campaign.
